Uganda's parliament prepared to approve a law will impose homosexual persons imprisonment and even death. an international outcry of criticism has led the president to order a review. but after a relentless lobbying campaign orchestrated by extremists, it is possible that the bill is approved , opening the door to widespread persecution and violence.
the gay rights activist Uganda Frank Mugisha writes:
this bill puts us in grave danger. please sign the petition and ask others to support us, if we achieve a massive global response, our government will realize that Uganda will be isolated internationally by the proposed law, and eventually withdrew .
the bill provides for life imprisonment for anyone convicted for having sex with others of the same sex and imposes the death penalty for repeat offenders. and NGO activists working to prevent HIV infection could be imprisoned, and any citizen you risk to spend up to 3 years in prison if no complaint police gay activities which it has knowledge.
