Education Minister, Ángel Gabilondo, held on Thursday "from" open investigations arising from the incidents that took place at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB), where Dozens of students tried to boycott a conference of leading UPyD, Rosa Díez, or who were from the University of Oviedo against former Prime Minister José María Aznar.
Ondacero In an interview picked up by Europa Press, Gabilondo showed their solidarity with Rosa Díez and criticized what he considers "a real nonsense." In this sense, described as "unworthy" the failure to respect the free expression of ideas in a university and urged to "fight" in the first place, education and training. "That is the anti-university," he said.
Minister also referred to the episode of Aznar at the University of Oviedo and reiterated that his position is "absolutely opposed" to someone is prevented from freely expressing their ideas. So he said: "When such incidents seems appropriate for me to open an investigation."
Moreover, Gabilondo said "it is essential to a sustained commitment on education," but warned that to get the pact must be able to share educational different beliefs. "We've been talking about this time because it is very necessary, now let's see if, in addition to necessary, it is possible," he added.
